Logan is sick, yet again, and because he can't breathe very well, he has been waking up every couple hours during the night. Monday night he woke up four times. Last night he woke up at 2:15am and kept me up til almost 4am. I admit at becoming an irritable shrew during those moments and I am so not proud of whispering 'jesus goddamn fuck it christ' while holding the baby. Today I made sure to take naps when Logan did and Im headed to bed soon after this. I think my frustration also stems from being the only parent in the house in the past week-- hubby did not have a day off since he started the new part time job and won't until Saturday. They asked him to start work early and then his orientation was this weekend. So he gets up for work at 6:40am, works til 4pm. He eats something, changes clothes and watches Sportscenter. We talk a little. He leaves for the second job at 5:30. He doesn't get home until 12:20am. He heads straight to bed to start over again at 6:40am. Thankfully, he is off on Saturdays and Sundays from both jobs (though I suspect he will be going into the office a couple hours those days anyway) starting this weekend.
So I spend a lot of time alone with Logan for company. I watch too much tv. I babble back and forth with Logan, who thinks I'm hilarious, by the way. My 18 year old doesn't come out of his room all day, unless I've asked him to take out the trash or of he wants something to eat. I'd join a playgroup if I was so inclined, but honestly, I'm not. So far the wives around here just want to talk about Mary Kay and scrapbooking. When I describe the games I play they look at me blankly.
I've thought about joining a bowling league. Especially when hubby leaves for a year. Once Logan is old enough and the kids feel more confident dealing with him for more than an hour on their own, I think I will work something out with them. Maybe six more months and I can start to branch out a little more.
Been reading books I checked out at the library. Our system has the catalogue online and it lets you know if the book is on the shelf and available or not. You can even sign up for the waiting list for a popular title and read any electronic things they have on file. I checked out two books on the gastric bypass I'm having and each had some neat recipes in them. Some looked really, really good.
Did not get to the nutritionist on Tuesday due to the long night with Logan. I have a feeling I just may have to continue with Weight Watchers simply because I can bring him to the meetings on Monday mornings. So there would be no wondering about hubby's schedule. I just wanted to save that $340 its going to cost. Then again... with hubby working so hard and away so much, at least Id have a place to go to talk to other adults!
Did I mention I watch a lot of TV? A LOT. Especially with the dvr we have. Today I watched documentaries: Rosie's Cruise, Keeping the Faith: Becoming Priest in Today's Catholic Church, Cosmos, Secrets of the Solar System, and The San Fransisco Quake: 1989. Then I watched my TV shows: The Sopranos, Big Love, Star Trek Next Generation (3 episodes), Deep Space Nine (2 episodes), Worlds Most Amazing Videos, Sex and the City, Ghost Hunters, America's Next Top Model, and the nightly news on ABC. I would have watched Lost but the fuckers at ABC seem to think we're so stupid they have to recap the episodes to keep things straight. Like they did with Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy last Sunday. Dicks.
I recorded The Amazing Race, Dateline: To Catch a Predator, and the Daily Show (I do that every night) to watch in the morning.
Yeah, I watch too much tv. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
