Logan is sick, yet again, and because he can't breathe very well, he has been waking up every couple hours during the night. Monday night he woke up four times. Last night he woke up at 2:15am and kept me up til almost 4am. I admit at becoming an irritable shrew during those moments and I am so not proud of whispering 'jesus goddamn fuck it christ' while holding the baby.

Today I made sure to take naps when Logan did and Im headed to bed soon after this. I think my frustration also stems from being the only parent in the house in the past week-- hubby did not have a day off since he started the new part time job and won't until Saturday. They asked him to start work early and then his orientation was this weekend. So he gets up for work at 6:40am, works til 4pm. He eats something, changes clothes and watches Sportscenter. We talk a little. He leaves for the second job at 5:30. He doesn't get home until 12:20am. He heads straight to bed to start over again at 6:40am. Thankfully, he is off on Saturdays and Sundays from both jobs (though I suspect he will be going into the office a couple hours those days anyway) starting this weekend.

So I spend a lot of time alone with Logan for company. I watch too much tv. I babble back and forth with Logan, who thinks I'm hilarious, by the way. My 18 year old doesn't come out of his room all day, unless I've asked him to take out the trash or of he wants something to eat. I'd join a playgroup if I was so inclined, but honestly, I'm not. So far the wives around here just want to talk about Mary Kay and scrapbooking. When I describe the games I play they look at me blankly.

I've thought about joining a bowling league. Especially when hubby leaves for a year. Once Logan is old enough and the kids feel more confident dealing with him for more than an hour on their own, I think I will work something out with them. Maybe six more months and I can start to branch out a little more.

Been reading books I checked out at the library. Our system has the catalogue online and it lets you know if the book is on the shelf and available or not. You can even sign up for the waiting list for a popular title and read any electronic things they have on file. I checked out two books on the gastric bypass I'm having and each had some neat recipes in them. Some looked really, really good.

Did not get to the nutritionist on Tuesday due to the long night with Logan. I have a feeling I just may have to continue with Weight Watchers simply because I can bring him to the meetings on Monday mornings. So there would be no wondering about hubby's schedule. I just wanted to save that $340 its going to cost. Then again... with hubby working so hard and away so much, at least Id have a place to go to talk to other adults!

Did I mention I watch a lot of TV? A LOT. Especially with the dvr we have. Today I watched documentaries: Rosie's Cruise, Keeping the Faith: Becoming Priest in Today's Catholic Church, Cosmos, Secrets of the Solar System, and The San Fransisco Quake: 1989. Then I watched my TV shows: The Sopranos, Big Love, Star Trek Next Generation (3 episodes), Deep Space Nine (2 episodes), Worlds Most Amazing Videos, Sex and the City, Ghost Hunters, America's Next Top Model, and the nightly news on ABC. I would have watched Lost but the fuckers at ABC seem to think we're so stupid they have to recap the episodes to keep things straight. Like they did with Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy last Sunday. Dicks.

I recorded The Amazing Race, Dateline: To Catch a Predator, and the Daily Show (I do that every night) to watch in the morning.

Yeah, I watch too much tv. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Couple of videos today. This one is illustrates Logan's obssession with the camera. Once he see it, he wants nothing else.

This one I taped this morning while I was cleaning. He doesn't like the vacuum cleaner and I wanted to catch his reaction. I just didn't expect what he did after I asked him if he wanted to touch it.

Im supposed to get to the nutritionist tomorrow. Fingers crossed that hubby's schedule holds true and he can make it here to watch Logan for me so I can get the next step started!

Healthy again!
I have been catching up on the laundry the last couple of days. Hubby and I went to our furniture store and placed a lovely new dryer on our existing account. Our payment went up by $10 a month, which doesn't bother me. The military's pay increase kicked in so we have a little extra that I forgot to budget in. Yay for having a little more to put in savings! I like the new dryer and I really enjoy having more than "Regular Heat, Medium Heat, and Air Fluff" to choose from. We purchased a three year warranty, which protects us from ending up in this predicament again. Never thought Id enjoy doing laundry, but I had a field day being able to finally get it all done.

We have caught Logan standing unsupported for a few moments each day. It caught me completely off guard the first time I saw it-- I gasped really loud and scared him. His sense of humor is evolving and he has this wonderful "I'm up to something" grin he throws over his shoulder at me. When you say, "Mommy/Daddy going to get Logan!" he crawls really fast away from you. Cracks us up.

Hubby started working the second job last night- they asked if he could start earlier than planned-- and we were happy to find out he works Monday- Friday, weekends off! We've never had that situation with a second job before. He was thrilled. It would be nice if he could get through the summer doing this. His Navy pay covers all our bills. The second job allows us to pay ahead on things and save more money than we can now.

Two weeks and I'll go to the support group at PNH. Im going to take Logan with me since hubby has to work. Its not a very long drive. I'll just make sure to bring snacks and toys with me to entertain him. I may ask my daughter if she wants to come.

May 2nd I start the required nutrition classes. This lasts for six months. I decided to start in May so that hubby has mroe time to set up stuff at work to make sure he can come home for lunch and watch Logan.

We are waiting for our 18 year old's GED results. Once that is done we do his FAFSA paperwork and application to St. Leo University.

We are discussing the possibility of going to South Korea for our next assignment. I've been there once, very briefly, and I wouldn't mind having that experience. The only thing is I would have to leave my 18 year old (well, he'd be almost 20 by then) sooner than I'd like. We've been irritating the hell out of each other... he seems to think since he's 18 that house rules no longer apply to him. We got into it yesterday and he's been giving me the cold shoulder since. What is up with teens thinking if the room is clean to their standards that their parents should be satisfied with that? grrrrr....

That's fine. I control the internet here. MHUAHAHAHA.

Im doing ok....just trying to ge rid of the cold that started when I hurt my back. Great timing there.

Budgetting, tightening belts and cutting expenses. Not much left to cut, really. Considering letting go of my cellphone, but the differance in the package without my cell is negligable, so not sure what to do. Hubby is back at the part time job on the 21st. He says he wants to try to make it to December, but the man works so damn hard I'll just be happy if he works through the summer. Or the next two months. Anything to get our dryer fixed or replaced and the money for our daughter's braces put together.

Just one more year and we can breathe easier. Several bills that have been long on the list get paid off... will allow me to throw more at the car. Id love to get that paid off in the next three years and save us $7000 in interest!

Hubby watched Oprah's last segment of the Debt Diet and it finally sparked something in him. So thank the tv gods for daytime tv.

Logan is enjoying all the new food he can have (like the taco meat he's eating in the picture) so much that he often goes exploring in the cabinets to see what other tasty things he can try.

I pulled my back, so this entry will be short, since Im really, really doped up. Of course, my body also decides to catch a sinus infection, so I had to choose between medication for the back or the illness. I chose the back. I hope my back feels better by Tuesday. Sitting around unable to do things is already getting old.

I pulled my back April 6, which meant I missed the support group. Sucks. I will make the May one, though.

I will write more as soon as I can focus better and not have to retype things.

We had a good weekend. Hubby took leave of absence from that new part time job *COUGH COUGH* due to his Navy job. We are extremely tight because of this, but nothings been shut off or repossessed and I don't have to screen phone calls yet. So nothing new. So Im once again looking at daycare, just one child, really.

Thing is...I really, really like having a schedule that me and Logan are happy with-- another child would foul that up until I could get that figured out. Then the thought of being ill and caring for two or having two sick at the same time.
It also means that I would have a problem making my nutrition classes. Hubby says not to worry (worst thing he could say, actually) and to just relax.

The dryer died this week. So that's an additional thing to take care of. Now we are doing laundry on two specific days and hubby will run them to the laundromat to dry them. Just him because he doesnt want to drag Logan there. Honestly, Id like to get a library book and do it myself... maybe I will offer and let him have time alone with Logan. Oh wait, if I recall he wanted to use the time to do work on his laptop. Guess we could take turns.

We are putting off our daughter's braces because we do not have the deposit ($650) and can't carry the monthly payments without his second job. Luckily, we can get her done next February, when we WILL have the money. We have to come up with $2800.
Our oldest son offered to help pay. He's such a good brother. We refused.

The oldest actually has his GED testing this 6th and 7th. We've chosen his college (St. Leo's) and they do not require him to have an ACT or SAT due to the GED. Awesome.

Im playing EQ2's Nagafan server. Unfortunately, some old friends are on the other side (its Good vs. Evil-- I'm Evil this time) and I killed one of their groupmates today. Yesterday I helped kill another of them The Graveyard. I felt a little guilty to help strike down someone wearing the tag I used to wear above my character. I will feel better though when one of my awesome friends joins me again with my new guild. She's expected soon. I am managing to play a couple hours each night before bed. Having fun.

Its nice and quiet in this household.
